Dearest Mother and Daddy,
If you don't hear from me for a few days, you will know that I am shipping. I am on the alert now for shipment, and I think I will go out today or tomorrow. Of course there is no telling where we will go, but I will write when I get settled down again.
I got the $5 you sent me. Thanks a lot. I will get even with you sometime. You need not send me any more money though. I will get a full check and will be on top then.
I have got to get started packing now, so I will be ready when they call us out.
