VGD31 1 1= MORRISTOWN NJ 2 946A L H DICUS= SCOTTSBORO ALA= GEORGE ARRIVED SAFELY IN ENGLAND LONG LETTER THIS MORNING. LETTER FOLLOWS= ANNA RUTH.
[NOTE: This telegram was sent February 2, 1944 when Anna Ruth received her letter from George dated January 11, 1944 letting the family know that his convoy arrived safely in England. Letter No. 57 is the letter he sent home to the parents in Alabama and Letter No. 58 is a letter from Anna Ruth, where she transcribes the letter from George and sends it on to the parents in Alabama. The timeline gets a bit confusing, with the delay in mail from Europe.]
